RD 202: Three Career Skills, Abilities, Needs, and Values Research Paper (Should be a career within Finance and Economists field, because this is the client’s major) 1. This paper is based on analyzing your skills, abilities, values and needs to help you determine which three (3) career/occupational areas that you would like to consider as a career path. 2. Complete research and write approximately a 4.5-6-page paper about the facts and statistics you learned from this search combined with the reflective questions that analyze you. 3. Begin with an introduction about which three careers you chose to research and why you selected them. 4. Share the following information obtained for each career separately: Education-major and specific degree(s), certifications, licenses, and/or training needed The specific skills and abilities required as well as work experience too The average salary or a salary range for each career. Additional research ideas to investigate: Is this career experiencing a growing or declining trend? What statistics did you uncover to support your statement? Is this career in demand in certain parts of the country? Which areas of the USA afford the most opportunity and or the least opportunity? Will this career enable you to advance? If so, what are the opportunities or career paths this position may lead you to later? Which industries hire the most frequently for this career position? Does this career require you to travel? If so, what percentage of the time would you be away? What is unusual about this career such as having to work overnight or weekends/, being able to carry a specific weight, requiring a fast-paced quota, or being in a dangerous environment? Are there any specific perks or benefits related to this career? (IE: sales-bonuses or commissions, hospitality-travel/hotel discounts, nursing-free care from the practice, teaching-free tuition, technology-discounted equipment, restaurant-discounted food). What else did YOU creatively uncover beyond the assignment requirements that you found pertinent to your decision? * 5. From your previous list made in class, share two of your values and two of your needs. Explain how each of these careers coincides with your two values. State how each of these careers may satisfy or not satisfy your two needs listed above. 6. Justify why you believe that you may or may not be successful in each career separately based on the educational requirements, skills, and abilities needed. 7. After reflecting upon yourself and your research, end with your conclusion by rationalizing which of these three careers you are leaning towards. 8.
