Sexism may have come about due to beliefs in our society that one sex or gender is intrinsically superior to another. Extreme sexism encompasses sexual harassment, rape and several other forms of sexual violence. This essay goes into a deeper contrast of how sexism affects men rather than the normal effect on women. When men experience sexism
Men experience sexism in many instances especially during marital crisis where they are forced to pay the women despite the capability of the women in providing for their children (Berlatsky, 2013) Additionally, research shows that only ten per cent of the divorce cases in the United States are worn by men (Benatar, 2012) hence the men are also discriminated basing on gender (Berlatsky, 2013). Men also face pressure socially and legally to fight in wars due to their masculinity which is gender discrimination. Men are also victims of corporal punishment which is inflicted on them more often than girls. Moreover the cases of rape in the men prisons is tolerated by the society since no measures have been put in place to avoid such cases which are a form of sexism on men(Berlatsky, 2013).

Sexism is a vice that not only affect women but also the men and the war against it should be embraced by everyone and the ordeal will be dealt with once and for all. This will cease it all together instead of one sided solutions. The fight against sexism in men has not been taken into keen account and measures have to be put in place to help. The talk of sexism on men has always been seen as an attack on feminism (McRobie, 2008) but that is not the case. The stereotypic discrimination affects the whole society altogether that is both men and women (Berlatsky, 2013). This then should spur the people to create alliances rather than fissures (Berlatsky, 2013) as this will help the whole society to stop gender discrimination which is a societal menace that causes intense effects.
Personal experience and advice
My personal experience on sexism was depicted in my working station whereby women were always not given managerial positions since they were believed to be positions fit for men. The most frustrating fact was that even during meetings the women’s opinions were not taken with the same intensity as men. Even when the idea is beneficial the men could steal and snatch the right to own the women’s idea. This matter became controversial and the issue was solved by the central office that sent a female manger. My advice to such cases is ensuring that there is gender balance in the posting of jobs even in the most senior positions. Also such matters should be called on by the victims and ensure that solutions are made. Routine check-ups should be done to ensure that such cases are not depicted in their offices.

Sexism is a vice that affects bother genders and all of them should be given the same attention so as to eradicate the menace all together. This will be beneficial to the whole society as a whole hence sexism is a vice but when solved it then becomes beneficial to all.
