Review the list of sport industry business segments from the textbook (Chapter 3, p. 88 or e-book p. 99) and choose an organization, team, or facility that fits within one of these segments that you plan to use for your final project (for example, the New England Patriots within professional sports or the University of Nebraska athletic department within college sports). In a 2- to 3-paragraph journal assignment, address the following:
Selection: Describe your selection and explain in detail the role your selection plays in the greater sport industry and community. (For example, if you chose a local high school field, explain what the field is used for, what sport relevance it holds in the area, what uses it has, who runs it, and so forth.)
Resources: Identify 3–5 preliminary resources that you think will help support your research for your final project. Briefly describe each resource and include a citation for each in APA format.

Selection
I have chosen to write about the Pittsburgh Steelers, a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Steelers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The team was founded in 1933 as one of the original members of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), and joined the NFL in 1946 after the AAFC–NFL merger. The Steelers have won six Super Bowls (1974, 1975, 1978, 1979, 2005, and 2008), more than any other NFL franchise. They have also won 16 AFC Central division titles, nine AFC Championships, and four NFL Championships.
The Steelers play their home games at Heinz Field, which is located in Pittsburgh’s North Shore neighborhood. Heinz Field was opened in 2001 and has a seating capacity of 68,400. The stadium is named after H.J. Heinz Company, a Pittsburgh-based food company.
The Steelers are one of the most popular and successful teams in the NFL. They have a large and passionate fan base in Pittsburgh and throughout the United States. The Steelers are also one of the most valuable sports teams in the world, with an estimated value of $3.5 billion.

I do not anticipate any major concerns with my research for this project. I have access to a variety of resources, and I am confident that I will be able to find the information that I need. However, there is always the possibility that I may encounter some difficulty finding specific information. If this occurs, I will be able to adjust my research methods accordingly.
