The different steps start by identifying and understanding a problem then developing steps of handling it thus coming up with defined solutions. Equally important, under the seven-step problem-solving techniques details different steps that arte adopted in solving and handling a problem. In the case of my business that is growing and has consistently hired employees who need to be connected to the intranet, the problem-solving methods can be adopted in addressing such issues. Upon the use of the seven-step problem-solving techniques, the business will identify a quick and efficient method way of having the employees connected to the internet. The seven-step problem-solving technique will address the issue of intranet connectivity in my business that has increasingly grown and hired more employees.
Problem-solving Methods
The seven-step problem-solving techniques enrol a structured basis to solve problems that are experienced in an organization or business. The first steps entail the identification of the problem at hand (Albers and Meboldt, 2007). There are many problems in an organization but at this stage, the specific problem to be addressed is identified. Consequently, the problem is defined by analyzing it. At this stage, the problem is understood its source and impacts in the business. Furthermore, the problem is analyzed to understand the facts of the problem thus providing a good basis of solving it. This stage enables to find the people that need to come together to handle the problem as one can establish things about the solution, things that can be done and the opportunities. Moreover, there is the possibility development stage that seeks to evaluate and develop solutions that can be implemented to solve the situation at hand. At this stage one gives a chance to creative solutions thus developing different solutions that can be used to handle the issue. Concomitantly, upon having a different solution one selects the best solution among the available. The best solution is evaluated and sort solution operational validity, the economic validity and the personal commitment to the solution. More so, one moves to the implementation stage to put the solution in action to handle the problem. Finally, the solution settle on is evaluated to determine its efficiency and effectiveness.
Using the seven-step problem-solving technique to the intranet connectivity problem
The seven-step problem-solving technique can be adopted in solving the intranet connectivity problem. The first step entails identifying the actual problem to be solved and in this case, connecting the rising number of employees to the intranet is the main problem. Consequently, the problem needs to be defined. The organization has steadily grown and hired more employees who it is not in a position to meet its intranet connectivity need. Furthermore, the inability to connect increasing employees to the intranet need to be analyzed (Albers and Meboldt, 2007). Different persons can be incorporated in the problem such as IT professionals and internet gurus to ensure that intranet connectivity is achieved. Moreover, at the development stage one needs to think about different solutions that can be increasing investment on intranet, employing IT and experts in computer science to handle the intranet connectivity issue, changing the webserver to ensure that more employees are connected, and redesign the intranet to serve more clients (Wagner, Chung and Baratz, 2002). More so, one needs to settle on the best solution and in this case, the best solution is to make investments in intranet and employ an IT and computer science professionals to handle all the intranets connectivity. The one moves to the stage of solution implementation in the interest of increasing the i9ntranet connectivity. Finally, one evaluates the success and achievements of the solution being implemented. This stage ensures one to evaluate is the problem is effectively solved.
In conclusion, problem-solving techniques identify the problem and solve it in the process of solution identification. The solution identification is done in steps until the best solution is identified and applied in the interest of ensuring the problem is countered. In the case, of intranet connectivity, the solution is to make investments in intranet and employ IT or computer science professional to handle current and future issues of intranet connectivity.
