In Module 6 you identified a business problem in your company or organization and wrote a draft of a proposal to address it. You completed a final draft in Module 7. The immediate audience was your manager, who pitched your ideas to others in the management communication chain.

The C-Suite now would like to see a presentation on the problem and your proposed solution. The presentation should be consistent with visual design principles and any branding or style guides for your organization. You will need to adapt your proposal from the static written medium to a dynamic interactive presentation that engages high-level managers.

Your task: Create a 10-15 slide presentation; presentations must be prepared using Microsoft PowerPoint. Assume that the audience members have heard some key points from your proposal, as modified by your manager and others in the chain of command as the proposal was discussed informally. In fact, your manager may have given you feedback on how your proposal could be revised and adopted for senior management.

You are strongly encouraged to use the following format so that your presentation is organized appropriately:

  1. Title Slide (1 Slide): Include the title of your presentation, your name, company, and date of presentation.
  2. Introduction (1-2 Slides): The introduction should capture your audience’s attention, establish credibility, and provide an overview of the business problem and the main points. Refer to and apply the strategies outlined in your textbook to meet these objectives.
  3. Preview Slide: This slide will preview the main points you plan on making during the presentation.
  4. Content (7-9 Slides): The content should include the main points of the proposal and the supporting material. The main points should include the significant ideas you want to convey to your audience. Each slide should be an independent idea related to, or building upon, other main points.

    Use PowerPoint Speaker’s Notes to clarify content or add appropriate information. Use simple designs and minimize the amount of text on slides. Graphics, photos, or other pictures should be essential to your audience understanding the main points. As with all written material for this course, you must follow APA 6th edition style (Links to an external site.) when citing supporting material.

  5. Summary/Recommendation (1-2 Slides): Use this section to reinforce key points to the audience and review your proposal with next steps.
  6. References (1 Slide): Include reference information for the supporting materials used in your presentation.
