Module Five Journal Guidelines and Rubric

Overview

In this module, you learned that you can’t be a leader without followers. Leadership, then, is a very personal process, and yet it is

anything but a solitary process. Leading is ulmately about people. In this course, the journal will be used for reflecon. This is a

private conversaon between you and your instructor, and you are encouraged to deeply explore the concepts presented.

Prompt

You have watched Simon Sinek’s “Find Your Why” video clip. In this video, Sinek says, a true leader is someone for whom the others

raise their hands and say, “I will follow you.”

Compleng this assignment will give you some insight into how you can best movate others to follow your vision as a leader.

Now, answer these quesons from your perspecve as a leader, considering the recommendaons you have provided in the GROW

model:

Personal Reflecon: Why would others follow you as their leader? Explain.

Impact: How would you movate them to pursue the vision you outline, not because you order them to do so, but because

they want to do so enthusiascally on their own?

Feedback: Ask someone you trust and who can be objecve, “What is my greatest asset as a leader?” In your journal, record

the response and whether you agree or disagree and why.
