Select your topic:
2. Review the topic suggestions in the Macro Trends in Global Business presentation. (Look at the 3 slides titled “Related research & case study topics” in the presentation deck.)
3. Choose one that particularly interests you.
4. Conduct internet research to find a recent business article (published in the last 12 months) that discusses this topic in detail and/or focuses on the impact on a specific company or a specific industry sector. 5. Email the professor to reserve your topic. Here is what is required in your email:
o The name of the topic suggestion you are choosing;
o The title of the article you chose (insert a hyperlink in the article title);
o Your full course & section code (e.g. GOM240ZGA);
o All team members must be copied on the email.
o Deadline: Please ensure that you submit your topic for approval by the Monday of week 13 at 8 am. (Week 14 for GOM240ZGA and ZGC)
6. The professor will reply to all requests by Monday at 10 am.
Prepare your summary report:
• Create your report in Google Docs, with commenting ability turned on.
• At the top of the first page, give a title for your report, the name of the topic suggestion you chose, the title of the article (with inserted hyperlink), and the names of all team members.
• Prepare a 1-2 paragraph (approximately a half page) executive summary of the article, including what you think is the most important information that we need to know from this article related to your Macro Trend in Global Business topic.
Submit your summary report:
• REPLY ALL to the email from the professor approving your topic, and include the hyperlink to your online document. (We are NOT using Padlet as the dropbox for this assignment.)
• DUE: By the start of class, week 13. (Week 14 for GOM240ZGA and ZGC)
• Please note that work submitted late will not be evaluated, due to tight end-of-semester timelines.
Your summary report will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
• You followed these instructions precisely.
• The executive summary clearly shows how the article is related to the topic suggestion you chose.
• The executive summary accurately encapsulates some of the most important key points from the article.
• The wording of the executive summary is crisp and precise.
• The reader easily gets a good idea of the thesis and/or the most important point(s) of the article with a minimum amount of effort.
• Your document is entirely professional in grammar, spelling, punctuation and style.
