As you have gained a bit of knowledge on the idea of diversity in the realm of education, you
will need to complete an analysis report on an article that you find that discusses the importance
of diversity in education.
First, search for an article via the EGCC online library that touches on diversity in education in
any facet – i.e. working with multicultural students, minority teacher experiences, working with
diverse learners etc. NOTE: The article must be a research-based article (i.e. peer reviewed
and/or backed up with actual research/evidence). Read the article, and note anything in
particular that you find to be important or essential.
After reading the article, you are to write a 300-500 word (1.5-2 page) analysis of the article.
Your analysis should include answers to all of the following questions:
 What is the article about? What are the key points?
 How does the article relate to what you have read, seen, or discussed in class?
 Why is this article important?
 Do you agree or disagree with the claims made in the article? Why or why not?

The selected article is Beyond composition: What the study of diversity in K12 schools can learn from research in higher education.by Diehl and Tunzi (2021). The study is an evaluation of diverse schools and how they deliver learning. The study about diversity in K12 schools shows the value of learning from research in higher education. The article summarizes the components of the main framework for examining individual components. The focus of the article is to examine the role of diversity learning in higher institutions of learning. The objective of the research is to summarize the components of the framework for studying diversity in the higher education literature. The focus is to examine other frameworks including academic achievement and life-long learning. The article shows that with additional research in the k-12 can provide additional insights that enhance policy and practice.
The article relates to what I have read in class by showing the value of diversity and how to uphold it in the learning environment. It shows the need to adjust the internal dynamics to achieve a better outcome. The article is essential since it provides additional insights that can enhance the adoption of diversity in the learning environment. Another benefit is that it enhances a better discussion into the diversity in the learning environment. High education institutions can use the framework to enhance the adoption of diversity. I agree with the proponents of the research that not all diversity in the learning environment will lead to positive outcomes. However, the study shows that racially homogenous classes leads to better outcomes among the minority learners by boosting a sense of self as well as their future aspirations.
