Grade: /100
1. Objectives:
• To use the Oscilloscope to measure amplitude, frequency and phase of an AC signal
• To understand the behavior of capacitors and their transient analysis
• Simple series ac circuits.
Components Used:
Kit Part # Spice Part Name Values
Resistor R 2.7 kΩ = 2700 ohm
Capacitor C 2.2 µF
Capacitor C 1.1 µF
Table A – Component List
2. Experiment:
Part 1: Display a sinusoidal Waveform on the Oscilloscope in Tinkercad
(20 points )
1. Display a Sinusoidal waveform in Tinkercad (use the annotation tool to state your name) with Amplitude 1 V, and Frequency 1 KHz on the Oscilloscope as showed in the figure below:
(10 points )
Note: The offset value for the function generator should be set to zero.

(Insert screenshot of your circuit)
2. Explain the usage for both the function generator and the oscilloscope in order to create and display the sinusoidal waveform above. (10 points )
Part 2: Capacitor Transient Analysis on Tinkercad (60 points)
Figure 2 RC circuit
1. Build the circuit of Figure 2 in Tinkercad. Add an oscilloscope to the two terminals of the function generator press simulate and take a screenshot of your circuit (use the annotation tool to state your name). (10 points)
(Insert screenshot of your circuit)
2. Add an oscilloscope to the two terminals of the capacitor press simulate and take a screenshot of your circuit (use the annotation tool to state your name). (10 points)
(Insert screenshot of your circuit)
3. Find the time at which approximately %100 of the transition is achieved for charging the capacitor (7.5 points)
4. Find the time at which approximately %100 of the transition is achieved for discharging the capacitor (7.5 points)
5. Change the value of the Capacitor to 1.1 μF . Add an oscilloscope to the two terminals of the Capacitor press simulate and take a screenshot of your circuit (use the annotation tool to state your name). (10 points)
(Insert screenshot of your circuit)
6. Find the time at which approximately %100 of the transition is achieved for charging the capacitor (7.5 points)
7. Find the time at which approximately %100 of the transition is achieved for discharging the capacitor (7.5 points)
3. Analysis: (20 points, 10 points each )
1. What happens to the capacitor (output), when the input goes to zero? (Does it go directly to zero very fast? Slowly? …etc.
2. What effect does a bigger capacitor have on the RC circuit?
3. Bonus : (5 points)
