For this assignment, students will conduct a clinical interview of a child age 5-12 Please identify a person who is not a family member to interview. Conduct an interview that will gather background information, family, social and psychological history. Demographic data must be included (name or pseudonym, DOB, age, grade, location, race/ethnicity, etc.) The interviews can be conducted in person or using videoconferencing.

You will write a 4-page paper regarding the interview.

Introduction – 0.5 pages

Part 1: Case description – 1 page (3 paragraphs)

Provide a summary of the individual who is interviewed

Part 2: Interview plan – 1 Page (3 paragraphs)

Outline your plan for each interview (i.e. the questions or questionnaire used, the activities you used, how or why you selected these interview techniques), how the interview went, as well as any final reflections for each.

Part 3: Personal Reflection (4 paragraphs) (1.5 pages)

As part of your write-up summarize what you learned from your experience. How can you take what you have learned from the interview and improve your clinical interview skills; or impact your manner of engaging children and adolescents in treatment? What would you do differently in clinical interviews as a result of these interviews?
