Cervical Cancer

Create a 1-page fact sheet on cervical cancer, not essay-style, fact sheet.
Given the number of diseases and disorders a nurse has to be familiar with, quick references are a handy resource, not only for their own edification, but also so they can easily explain the disorders in lay terms to patients. Suppose you have been asked to create a quick reference or fact sheet for a particular disorder as a teaching tool for other nurses and healthcare professionals. What is the most important information to include? Nurses treating patients with a particular disorder would need to know about the pathophysiology of the disease and how the patient might respond to it. They would also need to know about the maladaptive responses, as well as the types of drugs used to treat the disorder.

For this Assignment, you will create a 1-page fact sheet that details important considerations for both the pathophysiology and pharmacology for potential prescription drugs used to treat common disorders of the neurological and musculoskeletal systems

The paper should be presented in a creative fashion using columns, graphics, ect..as with infographic. Create a 1-page fact sheet on cervical cancer in which you address the following:

• Briefly describe the pathophysiology of the disorder you selected. Be specific.
• Explain how the maladaptive and physiological responses of the disorder might differ.
• Describe the types of drugs that might be prescribed to patients to treat symptoms associated with this disorder you selected and explain why. Be specific and provide examples

The paper should include the following: title page, introduction, summary and references

Cervical Cancer

Introduction
Pathophysiology is a medical study that seeks to explain the functional changes that an individual faces whenever one encounters a body disorder. In this case, the body disorder is cervical cancer, therefore the following pathophysiology will seek to explain the functional changes a cervical cancer patient encounter. Before considering the functional changes of cervical cancer, it is important first to have an understanding of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the cells of the cervix, which is the lower part of the uterus.
One of the functional changes that result from cervical cancer is kidney failure where the kidney fails in some or other cases, all of its functions. Kidney failure occurs since cervical cancer makes urine build up in the kidneys, a process known as hydronephrosis (Small Jr, Bacon, Bajaj, Chuang, Fisher, Harkenrider & Gaffney, 2017). Another functional change that occurs as a result of cervical cancer is bone pain, especially in the born legs. Bone pain emerges in a person living with cervical cancer since the cervical cell tumor starts pressing the nerves against the pelvic wall and in some cases, the legs end up swelling.
Maladaptive and physiological responses of cervical cancer may be different and the differences may be as a result of several factors. One of the differences between maladaptive and physiological responses of cervical cancer is that maladaptive responses result in negative impacts on the body while the physiological responses have a positive impact (Small Jr, Bacon, Bajaj, Chuang, Fisher, Harkenrider & Gaffney, 2017). A physiological response may be a positive stimulus that will aid the body to reduce the pain that cervical cancer can cause. On the other hand, a maladaptive response may cause post-traumatic stress to a patient as a way of overcoming the pain the cervical cancer cause.
One of the drugs medical practitioners can use to treat cervical cancer is the Bevacizumab drug. The reason why using the Bevacizumab drug is essential to treat cervical cancer is because Bevacizumab helps in inhibiting the growth of tumor blood vessels (Chan, Aimagambetova, Ukybassova, Kongrtay & Azizan, 2019). When the tumor blood vessels fail to grow, the supply of blood in cancer cells reduces thereby reducing pain emerging from the cells. Another medical drug that medical practitioners can use to treat cervical cancer symptoms is the Hycamtin drug. Hycamtin drug works by killing the cancer cells thereby reducing their multiplication and it can help to reduce pain in the pelvic walls.
Conclusion
Cervical cancer is a cell tumor affecting the cells located in the lower part of the uterus. Cervical cancer results in many functional changes that occur in some parts of the body such as kidney failure and bone pains. Another impact of cervical cancer is maladaptive responses which make the cervical cancer patient uncomfortable. However, several medical drugs such as Hycamtin and Bevacizumab can be effective in addressing cervical cancer symptoms.
