BUS553 Organizational Behavior – M4A1: Individual Paper: An Ethical Case Study
M4A1: Individual Paper: An Ethical Case Study
Today’s global market creates a whole new set of ethical dilemmas for business owners, especially those that are involved in the social media world. One could argue that it is impossible to be the moral compass for the world, but to what extent does the leadership of social media businesses have an ethical obligation to its users, and be profitable at the same time? Once a business goes public, it also has an ethical obligation to its shareholders, so the stakeholder group grows. One such example that has been in the news recently is FaceBook. In APA format, compose a paper that:
• Identifies the ethical violations of FaceBook
• Evaluates the manner in which FaceBook addressed those ethical violations
• Create an employee training program for FaceBook specifically.
Consider a few issues when composing your paper. Did FaceBook’s terms of service adequately address ethical violations by its users? Did FaceBook violate its own policies? Was there any way to anticipate the ways in which FaceBook would be used in a global environment? How responsible is a business to ensure ethical behavior by its end users? What leadership implications exist in this scenario? How ethical was the selling of FaceBook users’ information? What role did power play in the leaders’ decision making for Facebook? What parts of your training program might be unique to a social media business?
Your paper should be no less than 5 pages, and be sure to cite at least two peer reviewed references in your work.
M4A2: Learning Reflections
Learning Reflections
Learning reflections give you the opportunity to think about what you have read and written in this module, linking it to your own experience and prior learning. This exercise will help ensure that you are able to recall the information presented in this module at a later date and use it when completing assessments.
For your learning reflections, “What did you learn in this module and why is it important?”
In addressing this question, please write from between 5-10 sentences. You do not have to cite any outside sources or use APA format. This is your opportunity to think through what the module has meant to you.
