Students will select a US airline of their choice and submit the name to the instructor for approval. I chose UPS airlines for this research paper. Down below are the requirements for the paper.
Use APA 7th edition

Content: The main focus of your paper is to gain a through insight of the financial performance of a US airline of your choice, by performing a financial analysis of the company. Locate the 10 k annual report for the last three consecutive years, and analyze the financial performance of the company by calculating and analyzing various ratios. Your paper should at least include the following subjects: • Executive Summary • Introduction • Company Background • Financial Ratios o Profitability Ratios, Gross profit margin o Efficiency Ratios o Liquidity Ratios • Analysis o Analysis of Income Statement o Analysis of Balance Sheets o Analysis of Cash Flow Statements • Forecast / Future Outlook • Conclusions and recommendations • References • Appendix APA Format Research Paper Your paper should have 16 pages minimum: 1 title page 1 abstract page (to tell the reader what to expect within the paper) 13 pages of content (with a brief conclusion to sum up what your paper was about) 1 reference page (with a minimum of 4 references). 

Rubrics:

Title: Your Name, Teacher’s Name, Course Period, Date, Neatly finished-no errors.
Thesis statement: Clearly and concisely states the paper’s purpose in a single sentence, which is engaging, and thought provoking.
Introduction: The introduction is engaging, states the main topic and previews the structure of the paper.
Body: Each paragraph has thoughtful supporting detail sentences that develop the main idea.
Organization Structure: Writer demonstrates logical and subtle sequencing of ideas through well-developed paragraphs; transitions are used to enhance organization.
Conclusion: Review of key conclusions. Some integration with thesis statement. Discusses impact of researched material on topic.
CITATIONS: All cited works, both text and visual, are done in the correct format with no errors.
BIBLIOGRAPHY: Done in the correct format with no errors. Includes more than 5 major references (e.g. science journal articles, books, but no more than two internet sites. Periodicals available on-line are not considered internet sites).

An essay outline and rough draft are required as well.
