ASSESSMENT STRATEGY AND RATIONALE The assessment for this unit is based on a quality project that is done in the clinical area. This task is split into three sections. The first is the learning contract and what the student intends to do for the project and an outline of the project. The second assessment is the detailed project report, including a literature review, project design, pre and post audits, intervention and evaluation. The student will also need to describe leadership skills used in this project and engagement with stakeholders. The final assessment is an oral presentation of the project to the key stakeholders, ward staff and peers. In order to pass this unit, you are required to achieve a total pass mark of 50% The assessment tasks for this unit are designed for you to demonstrate your achievement of each learning outcome. The assessments will be returned within 3 weeks.
ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES Assessment 1 The first assessment is the learning contract which is a general outline of your project. This will outline your plan for your quality project. The information that you may want to include would be: • Project Topic • Clinical Area • Why you chose the particular topic ( you may include a brief lit search) • Key stakeholders • Plan for project • Timeline for project Version 6, 29.12.2022 6
Assessment 2 The second assessment is the oral presentation of your project. This will be 15 minutes in length for the presentation and a further 5 minutes for questions at the end. You can give a brief overview of your project and then perhaps go into one or two elements with more detail.
Assessment 3 The third assessment is your final project report. In this report you should include: • Project topic • Why you chose that topic • Literature search • Barriers and enablers • Leadership skills you utilised to engage staff in your project • Initial audit – the tool you chose etc • Results and analysis of initial audit • Intervention you selected and why you selected that particular intervention • Implementation of intervention • Reaudit – results and analysis of reaudit • Recommendations for future action
