Argumentative Essay of a Moral Dilemma

Argumentative Essay of a Moral Dilemma

I’VE INCLUDED THE PROMPT AND INSTRUCTIONS. Please read them both and contact me if you have any questions. What steps should be taken? In my case: My moral decision would be to medically assess the person’s chances of survival, and if they are low, I would pull the plug and donate the organs. You must first examine the Utilitarian and Kanation viewpoints and how they fit into the current situation. Then use the argument (the point of view) that supports my point of view and the other as counterarguments. The essay is written in an argumentative style, so by the end I should be convinced or have a good idea of what you believe to be the correct action.
Prompt
You’re a doctor in a hospital. You have five patients. One of your patients, John,
is in a coma.
If John were to die, his organs could be used to save the other 4 patients.
John’s power-of-attorney has lost all hope in John’s recovery and has granted you
(i.e., the doctor) her consent to “pull the plug” on John.
But right before John succumbed to a comatic state, you overheard John whisper to
his power-of-attorney that “he wants to live as long as possible.”
What should you do?
How should it be done?
My case: My moral decision would be to medically evaluate the chances of the
person surviving, and if they are low then I would pull the plug and donate the
organs.
You have to first analyze the Utilitarian and Kanation views and how they would
fit into the current position.
Then use the argument (the view) that supports my opinion and use the other
one as counterarguments.
The style of the essay is argumentative so by the end of the paper I should be
convinced or at least have a really good idea of what you take to be the correct
action.
