The Questions are as follows:

1. Choose a multinational corporation (MNC) that is manufacturing (assembling a good that you can hold in your hand. NOT a retail company or a company that offers services) goods in foreign countries (a country that is not the corporations home base). Name the corporation and the country they are based out of.
2. Name one of the foreign countries the MNC manufactures goods in (a country that is not the where the corporation’s home base is located). This will be the country you answer questions 4,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12 about, please do not choose the U.S. as the foreign country that you answer questions 4,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12 about (Although it is fine if the home base is in the US)
3. Give an overall description of the corporation and what commodities or services they offer
4. Answer the following population characteristics about the country you chose: What is the total population size? How much has it grown since 1990? What is the most current rate of natural increase? What is the most current net rate of migration? What is its urbanization rate? Does it have any mega cities you can name?
5. Please choose which ONE of the 4 measurements of economic development that we discussed in chapter 8 – GDP, GNI, HDI and GEM (also known as GDI) – that you personally believe is the best measurement for whether a country is truly developed or not. Please compare and contrast your choice to the other three measurements and explain why you think it is the best measurement and the others are not.
6. Look up and list the current values of the country’s GDP, GNI, HDI and GEM (or GDI). Based on your own criteria of economic development that you stated in question 5, how developed, in your opinion, is this country? Please explain in detail.
7. Identify and describe in much detail (tell me the whole story, stuff that led up to it, who started it and what each side has been saying or doing throughout the conflict) a current geopolitical issue between your chosen country and some other country. A geopolitical issue is an international political issue (between two or more countries) that centers on a geographical aspect, such as migration, or border disputes, or disputes over territory or Islands, or shipping routes and control of the seas. DO NOT base your answer on things that are not actually happening that could potentially happen, such as, “England is completely surrounded by water so it is vulnerable to attack on every side.” And DO NOT give something that happened in history like back in WWII and is not currently an issue
8. Describe in much detail your chosen county’s current connection with the United States? (examples would be some specific trade issue or agreement, migration, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), debt, etc. Give me as much detail as you can, provide names of goods, or of actual agreements, or statistics, numbers, quantities, and if there is anything interesting about the story). Again, please do not give me something from history like the country allied with the Us during WWII. Give me the current relationship
9. Do most laborers in your chosen country work in the Industrial sector, the agricultural sector or in the service sector? In other words, what is the most current “labor force by sector” or “labor force by occupation” data you can find?
10. What percent of the chosen country’s GDP comes from Industry? What percent from Agriculture? What percent from Services? In other words, what is the country’s most current “GDP by sector” data?
11. Name some of the chosen country’s main industries or products? How significant would you say manufacturing is in this country? Why? Name some facts or numbers or a good argument that you are basing your answer on? (Manufacturing is part of the Industrial sector)
12. Is your chosen country considered a Core, Semi-peripheral, or Peripheral Country? (This is not an opinion question. You should look up data on which they are)
