Complete a workflow for clinical process.

Create a visual workflow chart that includes five or more steps. Create the workflow using Microsoft Word. Map out a process from hospital admission to discharge and explain how the EHR supports each step in the process.

The EHR facilitates the registration process section by aiding in the storage of the patient’s details which enhances the patient’s care (Metsker et al., 2017). The details are stored in the system and can be shared easily with different departments. The E.H.R of the hospital facilitates the section of waiting for a nurse after the data has been transmitted to the nursing department, and then the nurse is assigned. The data collected and stored in the systems helps in providing the decision of whether to transfer the patients or not (Mayo et al., 2017). The data is exchanged through the server and therefore distributed across the entire required department within the shortest period (HealthIT.gov, 2019). The work of the nurses is simplified since the nurses can review the data on the hospital admission and provide the necessary medication to the patients. The daily assessments are updated in the E.H.R by the registered nurse on a daily basis. Attendants can access the reviews of the progress of the patients and the decision is made on whether to release the patient or not. E.H.R plays a critical role in the whole process from admission to the discharge of the patients (Sockolow, Liao, Chittams, & Bowles, 2012). The system can store a large amount of data concerning patients and shared among the nurses and other attendants. The data is then stored in a server database for access and quick decision making (Cowie et al, 2017).
