Project- Prm

Project -Prm
Project Summary
The project aims at providing information on the development of a construction project, which is a social project that provides care and support for the neglected children. The project involved building a house for the street children, consisting of several team members interested in children and human rights advocacy. The project is an average project that will host one hundred children from the street or children who are homeless. Additionally, the project is more of a private project, although it has little government involvement, especially in funding, and provision of requirements, such as certification and application of legislation. The project’s main objective is to complete the construction process in three months and successfully children. Another objective is to administer the project and select leaders that will control and organize the project for successful results and coordination.
The project members are provided with a project outline, which states the project’s needs and what should be done to complete the project (Demirkesen, and Ozorhon, 2017, page 639-1654). On the other side, the outline consists of the project scope and objectives that will assist the members in understanding the project in-depth and how the project will be completed. However, the project outline is sent to team members through email, which is the official form of communication, such as document sending, permission borrowing, and other official project activities. Maintaining regular and constant communication with the team members, involves making communication a priority, keeping things positive, keep updates concise and timely, and change communication channels to break the monotony.
A communication strategy is, however, necessary in maintaining healthy and constant communication during the project. For instance, the need to be informed should be outlined, such as decision-making and the development of policies and methods to enhance communication (Demirkesen, and Ozorhon, 2017, page 639-1654). Additionally, the kind of communication needed is significant, for instance, holding team management meetings, online conference calls, and project updates. However, the information shred should be project-related and only necessary information concerning the project, where anything pursued that is not expected from the team. The frequency of communication is another strategy. Communication should be done weekly, which assists in tracking progress, avoiding pilling up of issues, or leaving issues unsolved, leading to more issues. Another strategy is understanding the type of details that should be communicated, one, the successes of tr project, the problems encountered, significantly if the problem affects the overall project, the progress of the project, and lastly, discussing meeting notes.
The project management tools and techniques are essential in monitoring the goals, the project milestone, and the time frames. The agile project management method is the most appropriate management tool to monitor the project milestone and time frame (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182). Agile methodology promotes project planning and management of the construction process. Some of the significant benefits of the method involve a chance to make changes in between the project, although this affects other work dynamics, and the planning schedule, and timing. On the other side, the method can assist in fixing any upcoming issue and promote collaboration and strong communication. Since agile project methodology promotes flexibility, transparency, and interactivity, the methodology assists in tracking the milestone of the project and events that occur during the project.
The construction project milestone involves securing the funding process, the acquiring site stage, appointment co-consultants, completion of designs stages, client approval stages securing permission from an authority, tendering the construction, and appointment of a contractor. The project milestone by agile assists in evaluating points on a project schedule. However, the milestone is broken into four phases: the initiation phase, the planning phase, the implementation phase, and the closure phase (Demirkesen, and Ozorhon, 2017, page 639-1654).. On the other hand, the milestone plays a vital role in tracking the project’s progress, especially when dealing with stakeholders. Creating a budget for the project is a crucial milestone that is conducted after securing funding. The project budget consists of costs, such as the human resource tea, such as the contractors, and architectures, the training fees, the material resources, for instance, the bricks, and other materials, used to build the roof and make the flooring, for instance, terrazzo, concrete, rebars, and timber for framing. Also, travel expenses are included in the project, contingency reserves, as well as professional services. The cost estimation is conducted through a formula that includes materials, equipment, and labor.

Monitoring and control of project work, however, is the work of a project manager. The monitoring process involves other processes, such as project management planning, record keeping, agreements, or contracts, work performances, and organization of project assets. Monitoring the project and record-keeping assist in promoting traceability and in the decision-making process. A record management system(RMS) is implemented to maintain the records and storage to avoid losing essential documents, such as the permission certificate. Record keeping in the project can be improved through f technology, and artificial intelligence, as the intelligent way of project management. The AI methods assist in tracking the performance and re-planning the project.
The final procedure involves transferring deliverables to clients, confirming the project completion through visiting the site, and observing the work done. The other process is reviewing contracts and documents involved or used to seal an agreement at the beginning of the project. Release the resources, carry out a post=mortem, archive documents, such as the property title and other essential documents, and lastly, celebrating the completion of the project. Several legislation is considered in a construction project and might affect the construction of the house for humanity. The legislation is also concerned with the health and safety of the site, especially the safety of constructors. Some of the legislation includes the construction act of 2009, the building act of 1984, construction and regulations of 2005, and the UK health and safety at work regulation of 1999. Another safety regulation is the manual handling operation regulation of 1992 and workplace regulation of 1992.
The Impact of Leadership Skills on Project
Success
Introduction
A building and construction project is a critical activity in every organization that requires complete concentration and dedication. The decisions made by the project team leader determine the outcome of the business and the future of the particular project. Project management is essential since the project’s overall success is determined by the type of leadership, the control, and the authority of leaders. In case the project does not attain the designed goals and objectives, mostly the project leaders are to be blamed for it (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182). The critical roles of project leaders are to plan, make decisions, and manage the business. The research aims to discuss the impacts of leadership skills in promoting project success, mainly team management, as a critical skill in promoting collaboration and cooperation. The paper investigates and discuss team management skill, and explores how the tool promotes project success.

Literature Review and Conceptual Framework:
Soni (2020) is an article that discusses the role of team management in a project and how the skill assists in strategic planning and decision making. According to the article, teamwork is associated with the success of a project’s set goals and objectives. The author defines team management as organizing the group and coordinating the project members to achieve the desired goals through a developed work structure. According to the author, team management is considered the foundation and success of any project, where the process should consist of realistic and attainable expectations and goals. Team management as a leadership skill consists of executive members, co-coordinator, and team leaders. Effective management of an organization, according to the author, should consist of several leadership qualities and use of leadership team building activities that promote effective communication and interpersonal skills that assist in developing a successful project in the long run, for instance, use of team building games that assist in improving social skills.
Galli, Kaviani, and Margulis (2017) discuss the impact of change management in six Sigma teams and how change management is essential in the project team. According to the author, change management is very impactful, especially in the kind of leadership every team can choose, promoting team success. However, the six sigma teams apply change management through a process that involves, define, measure, analyze, improve, and control(DMAIC). According to the author, a team’s success relies on the shred leadership between the groups, which promotes the quality of teams, effectiveness, and increased performance in the overall project.
Ferreira (2017) is an article that discusses the motivation factors in sales team management and their influences on individual performance. The author analyzes how team management plays an essential role in motivating individual performance in sales, considering that motivation is critical for sales. According to the article various organization depends on ales team and teamwork, which promotes competitive advantage, where a competent sales force is the beginning of a successful project. The paper explores how team motivation, as a team management skill, promotes competitive advantage and success, especially in bringing out the human factor in a project. The author uses several theories of motivation, which project leaders use, for instance, the ERG theory, Goal-setting theory, Vroom expectancy theory, motivation-hygiene theory, learned needs theory, and self-determination theory. The application of motivation theory towards team members assists in changing the team’s attitude, performance, and behavior, which influences the overall performance and success of the project.
• Methodology
The study was based on a descriptive research method, which involved the use of case studies, review of archival research articles. The study evaluated the characteristics of good team management and invalidated the existing conditions of team management and team management as a leadership skill in the project. The data was collected through a case study method, which involved a study on the effectiveness of intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors used among the sales team. The research answers two fundamental questions: Does motivation influence team members’ behavioral performance? What is the level of motivation of the sales team? Also, the research used survey research, which involved answering survey questionnaires, that gathers essential data through the use of the right survey questions considering the need for teamwork in construction and how teamwork has assisted the completion and success of a project.

Results and Discussion
A project cannot be completed by one person or run by one person; therefore, the team makes sure the goals and objectives are completed. A team of individuals consists of people with different behavior and characteristics that are different from one person to another and assist in improving the project’s performance. Team building requires proper team management strategies and skills that control and monitor the project team to make the right thing, primarily transformational leadership skills. A project team leader should work on promoting flexibility and practical communication skills. For instance, flexibility involves promoting the use of technology and providing room for opinions and changes; a flexible leader encourages the team to come you with solutions to a particular project and respects every opinion and decision provided by the members. The essence of teamwork is to work together and share ideas, which assist in making changes and coming up with effective policies and procedures that will lead to high project performance and success. Influential leaders, on the other side, ensure that practical communication skills are applied, which ensures the adequate flow of information among the team members. However, the project leader developed channels of communication, such as the use of email, which assist in passing information, feedback, and grievances from project team members.
Team management is one of the essential leadership skills. The study’s team management focuses on adaptability, respect, organization, confidence, fairness, and functional skills, which are very important based on the project’s vision (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182). Motivation is another team management leadership skill that encourages the team members to work harder and not give up to see the project complete and successful. Team management builds trustworthiness between the members and between the leader and the project team members. Trust is essential and crucial because trust displays honesty and integrity. Trust also encourages team members to take risks and think critically about the team. Without doubt or lack of confidence. Leaders are, however, committed to the project, where the commitment promote teamwork and reduces the number of complaints that may emerge from the stakeholders.
Risk Identification and Analysis
A construction project has several potential risks since construction is a risky project with several unique risks. The project, however, requires proper planning, ad organization to avoid the risks, such as proper control and monitoring. Some of the potential risks include labor shortages, poor project management, unknown site conditions, safety hazards leading to workers’ injuries, unexpected increased costs, material costs, and natural disasters, such as site flooding (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182). However, every type of risk has a cost impact on the project. It affects the overall project, where according to the agile methodology, making a change would disrupt the overall project plan. The risks are experienced in all stages or milestones of the project, such as during the pre-construction phase of the project and in the process of construction. Risk identification is conducted by the project team and stakeholders, such as the clients, design team, advertisers, contractors, and project managers.
The goal of the identification process is to determine all possible risks and any harmful activity that could trigger and affect the project. The risk identification process involves using expertise, professional knowledge from team members, and experiences from the team. However, the process evaluates and reviews past projects, with similar make and scope, to understands and identity the likelihood and potentiality of the risks to take place and what should be done to prevent the risks from taking place. The best way to prevent risk from taking place is to manage the vulnerabilities through research information and experience. Management of risks is done by holding frequent meetings, such as weakly assessing the progress and identifying any rising issue that could be mitigated before getting out of hand in the future (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182).
Once the potential risks are identified, assessing the risk is the following process determined by the probability of the risk from taking place or becoming a reality in the future. However, the risk impacts are ranked in various levels, the high, the medium, and the low. High impacts risks are addressed before the low risks, and other risks are reviewed to determine the process of eliminating or preventing them. The process of grouping the risk is also known as risk classification, where the risks are categorized based on the nature of the risk and the cause of the risks. For instance, risks caused by external and internal factors. Also, the risks are categorized according to the class of effect, for instance, technological risks, economic risks, physical risks, political risks, economic risks, global risks, and local risks (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182).
The grouping, however, is determined by the status of the project; for instance, the construction of a house for the street children is a local project. The project risks are classified into organizational risks, external risks, environmental risks, such as unexpected site issues, technical and project management issues, such as poor planning, and budgeting, which raises issues, such as inadequate resources. For instance, some of the external risks include fiscal policies, natural forces. Other project management risks include poor estimation risks, insurance projects, delays, quality concerns, poor scoping, contractual issues, and quality concerns (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182).
For instance, the risks can be avoided, eliminated, reduced, transferred, or accepted. Negotiating the contract is one way to assist in managing the risks, or decide to transfer the project risk to the required person, such as the clients, or involve an insurance company in case the risks occur. Working with an insurance company assists in understanding the type of risks covered by the policy and other options of protecting the company against risks. Eliminating the reduction of risks and accepting risks are other ways of managing the risks, such as hiring more laborers, adding required materials to void delaying the project, or disrupting the project plan and schedule.
Risk management can be conducted using several tools, which depend on the organizational policy, the project management, and the project team members. The risk management process can be conducted through a risk assessor model( RAM). The model, however, provides justifications that are quantitatively provided to avoid the risk of uncertainty. Risk of uncertainties, which are involved in construction projects. The risk management process begins with risk identification, risk analysis, risk evaluation, risk treatment, and monitoring. A risk mitigation strategy is fundamental, especially in reducing the likelihood of the risk occurring again in the future and minimizing the effects and impacts of the risks (Szymański, 2017, page 174-182). Risk avoidance assistance involves choosing other alternatives to lower the risk level. In contrast, risk acceptance involves accepting the outcome of the risk, especially when the risk cannot be avoided and cannot be eliminated.
