In this Assignment, you will consider the evolving role of the nurse leader and how this evolution has led nurse leaders to assume the role of knowledge worker. You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation with an infographic (graphic that visually represents information, data, or knowledge. Infographics are intended to present information quickly and clearly.) to educate others on the role of nurse as knowledge worker.

To Prepare:
Review the concepts of informatics as presented in the Resources.
Reflect on the role of a nurse leader as a knowledge worker.
Consider how knowledge may be informed by data that is collected/accessed. Look over the ideas about informatics that are in the Resources.
Think about what a nurse leader does as a worker who needs to know things.
Think about how the data you collect or get access to can change what you know.
The Assignment:
Include one slide that visually represents the role of a nurse leader as knowledge worker.
Your PowerPoint should Include the hypothetical scenario you originally shared in the Discussion Forum. Include your examination of the data that you could use, how the data might be accessed/collected, and what knowledge might be derived from that data. Be sure to incorporate feedback received from your colleagues’ responses.
Develop a 5- to 6-slide PowerPoint presentation that addresses the following:
A. Ably synthesize the literature and course resources to present a clear and accurate explanation of the 2 concepts; 1. presentation clearly and accurately explains the concept of a knowledge worker; 2. presentation clearly and accurately defines and explains nursing informatics.
B. Includes a detailed graphic and explanation of the role of the nurse leader as a knowledge worker.
C. Present the hypothetical scenario you originally shared in the Discussion Forum. Include your examination of the data you could use, how the data might be accessed/collected, and what knowledge might be derived from the data. Be sure to incorporate feedback received from your colleagues’ replies.
D. The presentation must be professional; images must appropriately attributed; clear, readable, flows well and presented in a logical order.

The Nurse Leader as Knowledge Worker
The concept of a knowledge worker was coined by Peter Drucker. Peter Drucker was the one who came up with the idea of a “knowledge worker.” The goal was to show appreciation for people who help healthcare and other organizations with their specialized and technical knowledge. People who work in nursing as knowledge workers collect data and look at health trends (Harden et al., 2017). Trends help improve the quality of care by informing practices that are based on facts. When it comes to making and spreading knowledge in nursing, knowledge workers are very important.
What a knowledge worker does: Role of a Knowledge worker;
In a healthcare setting, knowledge workers are essential team members. The specialists’ jobs include collecting data, analyzing patient data, finding health patterns, making new knowledge, and sharing it (Harden et al., 2017). The experts look for patterns in health, like sickness, and figure out what causes them. The information helps a knowledge worker make knowledge that will have an effect on the healthcare sector. In summary; A knowledge worker must talk to customers, coworkers, and other important people to get the information they need.
Their job is to talk, write, and, when necessary, talk with stakeholders or colleagues (Park, Howard & Gomulya, 2018).
The goal of talking to customers, coworkers, and other important people is to get the information that is needed.
They help the patients with technical issues by answering any questions they have.
Their job is to deal with the different issues that the different stakeholders bring up.
Knowledge workers are responsible for making sure that the healthcare environment is always getting better. Continuous improvement is a part of using the newest, best, and most efficient methods (Desta et al., 2018). Research is part of the job to get the right information for analysis. How information is interpreted, shared, and used will affect the quality of care.
The infographic shows that nurses have a duty to take on the role of a knowledge worker in the healthcare setting. The goal is to combine and analyze different data sets, make new data, and share it (Desta et al., 2018). Evidence-based practice comes from the jobs of people who work in the healthcare field and have a lot of knowledge. Knowledge workers are always doing research and putting together data to help patients do better.

People who have been attacked and hurt, people with muscle stress, elderly people who need care in a home, and people with pain in their back of limbs are some of the people with different problems. Because nurses have to deal with a lot of different cases every week, they need to know how to treat each one. Treatment can be given to a child, an adult, or an older person. Also, some cases of assault call for emergency help. Because of this, it’s very important for them to be knowledge workers who have data, experience, and knowledge. They must also use nursing informatics to make their jobs easier and more professional.
