Final Project — Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find a list of answers to commonly asked questions about the Final Project asked by previous classes as well as this current semester. Your questions are welcomed as it helps me figure out what I could have explained better or in more detail for next time. Please check back periodically if you have a question to see if it has already been addressed. If not, then please go ahead and email me! Thank you!
Final Project: Part 1 Assignment
• For “Total Employment”, please provide the number of people working (employed), not the number of currently open/available positions. We want to know how many people are currently employed and working in your selected occupation for this project.
• For the sources, you can just copy/paste the weblink into the table. I know that might make the table size look odd. To address that, you can make the text size smaller to fit better or just give the title of the website and hyperlink the title (if you know how to do that). If you use data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics website I provided, you can just put “BLS” as your source and I will know what that means. Otherwise, you can just leave it as is. As long as I can read and understand your information, that is what matters.
• If you cannot find data for your city, it might be too small in population for data to be available. In that case, you can email me for assistance, or you will have to find data for the county in which that city is located. For more rural locations, finding county level data is probably going to be what you have to do. Many rural locations are just too small for that data to be available.
• Try to find the most recent data available — preferably within the last five years.
