Facts
Raymond Allen Snowden met Cora Lucyle Dean at the HiHo club and they left together. After they left the club, they got into an argument as to who was to pay the cab fare. They later calmed down, and as they crossed the street, they began arguing again; this is when Snowden took Dean over beside a pickup truck and pulled out his pocket knife and sliced her throat. The body was discovered the following morning, brutally and aggressively cut and disfigured. According to the autopsy surgeon who testified in the case, the victim’s voice box was cut out, and her neck and abdomen had wounds (Hall, 2011). She also had 2 facial lace rations and 2 facial lace rations on the back of her neck. Her spinal cord had been severed by the second neck wound causing her to die. After the incident, Snowden took the victim’s wallet and got a motorist to take him to an alley; this is where he changed his clothes. He threw the knife in a sewer and threw away the wallet. Snowden pleaded guilty to first degree murder and was sentenced to death.
