Instructions:
Propose a quality improvement project to address the quality/safety issue you have presented in previous assignments. This is a proposal and should not yet be implemented. Make sure to follow facility policy which usually includes getting an IRB determination before starting a quality improvement project so they can affirm it is not research, especially if you are using surveys or patient data.
Based on the quality issue you selected in Module 1 (Hypertension), write a paper that includes all of the following (Please note that it is acceptable in this assignment to use ideas and content and ideas that was created for the issue paper and the discussions):
1. Title page
2. Introduction
A. Establish the importance of the topic
B. Provide a mini-outline of the paper
C. Provide a clear purpose statement
3. Quality Issue
Present evidence from the literature concerning the issue to your practice.
Include a sub-heading and several well-developed paragraphs on each of the following six aspects of the issue. Include at least one to two journal resources for each of the six areas, one in each section should be from a nursing-specific journal:
• Economic (Describe the financial cost of the issue to the organization and patient)
• Political (Analyze external factors affecting the issue such as JCAHO, health policy, etc)
• Organizational (Identify internal factors that contribute to the issue)
• Informatics (Examine data and communications that impact the issue)
• Contributing patient factors (Examine the evidence that makes this issue likely to occur)
• The role of Interprofessional Collaboration (Identify team factors that may contribute to the issue)
4. Quality Improvement Processes
Select one of the quality improvement processes presented in Spath chapter 5
to guide your project
Describe the selected process and how it has been used
Justify your selection
Specifically, describe what you would do in your organization for each stage of the process
5. Quality Tools
Specifically, detail how you would use at least two quality tools listed in chapter 6 of the Spath text

7. Reference Page (At least eight articles from peer-reviewed journals, published in the last five years)
The paper should be nine to ten full pages of text with headings and subheadings separating each section (See page 47 in the APA 7th edition manual). The page count does not include the references or title page. An abstract is not required.
