EXCEL WEEKLY ACTIVITY (5%)

Read all instructions carefully – marks based on all steps and formats being complete. When complete e-mail (dana.winkler@georgiancollege.ca) one Excel file (.xls) and one Word file (.doc) to me by 11:59pm on Friday.

PART ONE
Create a table in Excel with the title centered above the table in row 1, the years in column A starting in row 3 and the province titles in row 2 starting in B2:

• Center the data under the province titles
• Format the table design as desired
• Create a column chart in Excel including all titles and a legend
• Customize the chart (fonts, colours, background etc) – be creative.
• Give your Excel worksheet a name.
• Copy and paste the chart into Word.
• Save both the Excel and Word files.

PART TWO
Visit the Ministry of Tourism (Ontario) site:
• https://www.ontario.ca/page/tourism-research-statistics
• Go to – Quick Facts – find – Key Sources of Ontario’s Tourism Income
• Copy and paste the numbers for Ontario, US, Overseas and Canadian Provinces
• Highlight data, right click and copy
• Go to a new worksheet in the same Excel workbook and name it.
• Paste the data onto the new worksheet.
• Using that data, create a Pie Chart
• Input the title – Sources of ON’s Tourism Income
• Format the table and chart as desired
• Don’t forget recommendations about legend VS labels
• Don’t forget your source information (add the website link as a source)!
• Copy the chart into the same Word document

 In the same Excel workbook but on a new sheet (name it), create a table comparing the radio listening preferences for males versus females
 From that table create a chart using the most appropriate format
 Include relevant titles and formats
 Copy and paste the chart into Word.
 Write 2 observations about the chart just below where you pasted in Word.
